Accessibility in the Classroom: Supporting Blind & Low-Vision Students
About the Event
Guest speakers from the Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center at the Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Hospital will provide an overview of the needs of low vision & blind students. Presenters will review the definition of low vision and legal blindness, discuss common eye diagnoses and functional impact, and provide an overview of blind rehabilitation. Attendees will gain an understanding of the accessibility needs of students with visual impairments and experience a demonstration of adaptive techniques and equipment.
