UNLV HSI Resource Hub

The NSF-funded HSI Resource Hub seeks to cultivate a community of STEM scholars adopting and growing in their understanding of culturally responsive and relevant teaching practices at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (eHSIs). We aim to accomplish this by advancing three distinct goals: 1) fostering HSI collaboration and networking; 2) supporting HSI faculty professional development; and 3) generating and disseminating knowledge by and about HSIs.

Whether faculty at HSIs are looking to enhance their teaching practices, connect with peers, or access resources tailored specifically for STEM educators, the HSI Resource Hub is designed to provide resources by and for faculty at HSIs.

HSI Resource Hub Resources –

  • Community Forum: STEM Faculty can connect with peers at HSIs across the country,  and ask questions, share resources, and collaborate on innovative ideas!
  • STEM Database:  STEM Faculty can access a growing STEM Database, a library of research articles and more—specifically designed to support STEM educators at HSIs.
  • eWebinars: Faculty are invited to attend our upcoming  webinars and expert-led discussions providing culturally responsive and relevant teaching practices and resources they can implement in their teaching! The first webinar will be on November 15th from 9am-11am (PST), join Dr. Ann-Marie Núñez as she shares more about Servingness in STEM!
  • Paid Fellowship Opportunities: The HSI Resource Hub provides paid fellowship opportunities for professional development with national organizations like ESCALA Educational Services and the New Leadership Academy.

We have an upcoming Virtual Open House on December 13th from 10:00am – 11:00am (PST) for any faculty wanting to learn more about the HSI Resource Hub and upcoming fellowship opportunities.

The UNLV HSI Resource Hub Team looks forward to welcoming STEM faculty from University of New Haven to the HSI Resource Hub. Please let us know if you have any questions.
